The Mountain Rests print is of a high quality photographic reproduction of a graphite rubbing (surrounded by black earth pigment) of a piece of Welsh Slate. The original rubbing was made during the development phase of the project Of Flesh and Stone.
Print: Giclee on 300gsm 100% smooth cotton. This paper has a velvety smooth matt finish, which expresses the quality of the original very well.
Handfinished in graphite: title top left, edition number bottom left, and signature and date bottom right.
Dimensions: 12" (30cm) x 18” (46cm)
Edition: 69 (plus artist proof)
(The Dinorwig Quarry in Llanberis saw its final day of quarrying on the 22nd August 1969. The edition echoes this momentous moment.)
